Most of the active current sharing methods are based on a communication network. The link is also used with improved droop control to achieve precise load and regulate voltage at common DC bus. Conversely, conventional method that considered decentralized becomes more attractive for controlling parallel-connected converters in microgrids. methods' main drawbacks associated unequal deviation In this paper, modified as augmented virtual adaptive gains improve regulation, respectively. contrast other approaches, approach proposed paper does not require exchange information between parallel modules. Instead, it uses converters' theoretical regulation characteristics estimate set point each converter locally. resistive gain manipulates module's gain, which ensures equal sharing. eliminates tradeoff difference by implementing control, compares estimated coupling rated bus value adjusts compared values ensure constant various conditions. restoration improvements versus algorithm technique observed paper. method's effectiveness demonstrated MATLAB/Simulink simulation validated an experimental prototype.

A Novel Hybrid Droop-Isochronous Control Strategy for Microgrid Management

The droop control strategy is the most common approach for microgrids control but its application is limited due to frequency deviation following a load change. Complementary control strategy has then been proposed to solve the problem using a communication network. However, under this strategy, regular loads profile produces a continuous change of output power of all distributed generators (DG...

Improved Droop Control Strategy for Grid- Connected Inverters

An improved control strategy for grid-connected inverters within microgrids is presented in this paper. The strategy is based on the classical P-ω and Q-V droop method. The improvement in the proposed control strategy is twofold: Firstly, the transient response of the droop controller is improved by replacing the traditional method of measuring average power, which is based on using a first ord...

Optimal Droop Control for Voltage Source Converters in Islanded Microgrids

A new procedure for the design of the droop control for voltage source converters (VSC) in islanded microgrid is presented. The droop control is commonly used to achieve the power balance in power system. It consists in a simple proportional control and the selection of its gains are commonly based only on power balance criteria. However, some values of the gains may cause poor damped responses...
